  1. Level 4 work does not any vaccinations because there are none. Any jewelry is left behind at the locker room. A sterile surgical scrub suit is required to pass through Level 2 and 3. All foreign clothes must be removed, even underwear. A surgical cap covers hair. To enter Level 2, a person must pass through an ultraviolet light to destroy any viruses. Entering stage 3, a person passes through a bathroom and must wear the clean white socks in the shelf. Going into stage 4, a person must pass the “staging area.” There, a person must shake baby powder onto both hands and pull on rubber surgical gloves. The gloves must be taped onto the surgical shirt and the socks must be taped onto the surgical pants. Then a person enters a antechamber where a space suit hangs on a rack, ready. The space suit is a “pressurized, heavy-duty” space suit created according to government standards to deal with the level 4 airborne hot agents. Maintanence of the suit falls to the user, and they must be weary of the gloves area especially because they handle needles, knives, and sharp pieces of bone, which will expose the suit. To finish putting on the suit, cover the final zipper area with an oiled ziplocbag after putting on the helmet and zip. Attach the airhose to the suit and the suit should expand, if not something is wrong. (Preston 51-55)

  2. Angel described all the necessary steps taken before entering a level 4 zone. All of these steps must be done to ensure that the person entering the level 4 zone does not come in direct contact with any viruses and so that the person does not take any viruses from the level 4 zone to the outside world. Vaccines are not needed in the level 4 zone because the scientist will be wearing a full body space suit. Also, the viruses in the level 4 zone are resistant to antibiotics and vaccines, making the level 4 zone the most dangerous of all the levels in USAMRID.
